NIAMH AND DOM
Niamh & Dom's wedding at Stratton Court Barn was the kind of wedding that makes you want to stay until the very last dance. Stratton Court Barn, just outside Bicester, is one of those venues that has everything going for it. Beautifully done, effortlessly luxurious without feeling too polished, and surrounded by loads of space to actually make the most of your wedding day. And this was a BIG wedding. Lots of people. Lots of love. Lots of noise. Lots of dancing. The kind of full-day celebration where there is always something happening somwhere.
From the morning preparations through to the ceremony, drinks outside, portraits, dinner, speeches, and eventually everyone getting properly stuck into the dance floor, I was there for the whole thing. One of my favourite things about a venue like Stratton Court Barn is just how much there is to photograph. The grounds give you room to escape for a few minutes and take everything in. There are beautiful corners for portraits, open spaces for group photographs and plenty of opportunities to let the photographs happen naturally rather than spending your entire day standing in one spot. Which is exactly how I like it.
I want you to have the beautiful photographs, obviously. But I also want to photograph what the day actually felt like. Your dad trying very hard not to cry during the ceremony. Your friends absolutely losing it during the speeches. The grandparents on the dance floor. The people you haven't seen for years finally getting together. The little moments between the big ones. And then, inevitably, the dance floor getting progressively more chaotic as the evening goes on.
Niamh & Dom's day had it all. A beautiful barn. A huge guest list. A full day of celebrating. And enough going on that I could happily have kept photographing long after everyone else had gone home. Stratton Court Barn is the kind of venue that work's brilliantly for couples who want the whole wedding experience. The getting ready, the ceremony, the drinks, the dinner, the speeches, the portraits and a proper party afterwards. And if you're planning a big, beautiful barn wedding with all your favourite people, this is exactly the sort of day I love photographing.
